释义	Bussa Rapids rapids, Nigeria rapids on the Niger River, below its confluence with the Sokoto River, south of Yelwa, Nigeria. There the river cuts into an outcrop of ancient basement rock, forming rapids that extend for about 50 miles (80 km) to Jebba. Before the construction of the Kainji Dam and Reservoir (1969), the rapids were an obstacle to navigation. The Kainji Dam has a total hydroelectric capacity of 960 megawatts.
