释义 | Central Connecticut State University university, New Britain, Connecticut, United States public, coeducational institution of higher learning in New Britain, Conn., U.S. It is one of four universities in the Connecticut State University system. The university includes schools of business, technology, arts and sciences, and education and professional studies. The graduate school offers master's degree programs in most areas of study. Total enrollment is approximately 11,800. The university began in 1849 as the New Britain Normal School. In 1933 it became a four-year, degree-granting institution, and its name was changed to Teachers College of Connecticut. In 1959 it became Central Connecticut State College, and in 1983 it was elevated to university standing. The campus is home to Copernican Planetarium and Observatory and the Capital Region Center for Economic Education. |
