There is a castle of the Naselli, from which the family tomb was transferred in 1517 to the 13th-century church of San Francesco. Other churches include those of the Madre, Santissima Annunziata, and San Gregorio, which has a Byzantine baptistery. Christian catacombs are in the neighbourhood. Manufactures include textiles, soap, vases, and other commodities. Pop. (2006 est.) mun., 29,571.
