city, northeastern Andhra Pradesh state, southern India. The city lies along the Nagavali River. Srikakulam once served as the capital of a Muslim region that was known as the Northern Circars (Northern Sarkars). Of historical interest is the mosque, which was constructed in 1641. The city has several government colleges that are affiliated with Andhra University. Pop. (2001) 109,905.
