释义 | Adams, Charles Follen American poet born April 21, 1842, Dorchester, Mass., U.S. died March 8, 1918, Roxbury, Mass. ![]() During the American Civil War he was wounded and taken prisoner. In 1872 he began writing humorous verses for periodicals and newspapers in a Pennsylvania German dialect. Collections of his verse are Leedle Yawcob Strauss, and Other Poems (1877) and Dialect Ballads (1888). His complete poetical writings, Yawcob Strauss, and Other Poems, with illustrations by “Boz,” were published in 1910. |
