The city is a hub of economic activity, serving as a cattle-shipping and meat-packing centre. Três Lagoas, which is on the São Paulo-Corumbá Railroad and is linked by road to Paranaíba and other towns in Mato Grosso do Sul, also serves as a transportation centre for the region. Pop.
