释义 | Evrótas River river, Greece historically Eurotas, also called Iris nonnavigable river rising in the Taíyetos Mountains in the southern Peloponnese, Greece. The principal stream of Laconia, it flows south-southeast through the agricultural Laconian plain between the Taíyetos and Párnon ranges and debouches at the head of the Gulf of Laconia northeast of Yíthion after a course of 51 miles (82 km). Although it is fed by minor streams of the Taíyetos range, its principal confluent is the Enunte, which joins it near Sparta. |
