Hunnemannia and has large, four-petaled, sulfur-yellow flowers about 5 to 7.5 cm (2 to 3 inches) wide, with a central puff of orange stamens (male reproductive structures). Golden cup grows to about 30 to 50 cm (12 to 20 inches) in height. The bluish green leaves have many blunt, narrow segments.
