释义 | Ikeda Japan city, Ōsaka fu (urban prefecture), Honshu, Japan. It lies on the Fukuchiyama Line (railway), northwest of Ōsaka. Settled in prehistoric times, Ikeda was a flourishing trade centre during the Tokugawa era (1603–1867). After the development of railway transport in the late 19th century, it served as a residential suburb of Ōsaka. The city's industries include brewing, woodworking, and the manufacture of automobiles and photographic equipment. Garden trees are cultivated in the surrounding area, where residential housing has replaced much farmland. Ōsaka International Airport adjoins the southern margins of the city. Pop. (2005) 101,616. |
