词条 | Kinabatangan River |
释义 | Kinabatangan River river, Malaysia longest river in northeastern East Malaysia (North Borneo (Sabah)). It rises in the eastern Witti Range, where it begins its 350-mile (563-kilometre) northeasterly course. Traversing for the most part a broad, heavily forested plain, the river culminates in a wide delta at the Sulu Sea between Sandakan and Kampong Tambisan. The Kinabatangan is navigable upstream for approximately 200 miles (320 km). Together with its tributaries, the Kuamut and Lokan, it is the only avenue of communication between the coastal towns and the forested interior. |
