释义 | Luisetti, Hank American athlete byname of Angelo Enrico Luisetti born June 16, 1916, San Francisco, California, U.S. died December 17, 2002, San Mateo American collegiate basketball player who introduced the one-handed shot. When Luisetti unveiled his jump shot in Madison Square Garden in 1936, it revolutionized basketball, replacing the static game of two-handed set shots with more scoring and action. He was also innovative in his dribbling and behind-the-back passing. Luisetti, at 6 feet 2.5 inches (1.89 metres), played basketball at Galileo High School (San Francisco, 1931–34) and at Stanford University (Palo Alto, California; 1935–38). A three time All-American, he was the first collegiate player to score 50 points in a game—his career total points were 1,596 in four years. His team won three Pacific Conference championships and popularized the fast-break offense and a combination of man-to-man and zone defense. He was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1959. |
