An extension of the Union Pacific Railroad (Union Pacific Railroad Company) (1870) through the site aided the development of Murray as a smelting centre for nearby mining operations and as a regionally important brickyard. Now a suburb of Salt Lake City, it is also a trading and shipping outlet for irrigated farm produce (sugar beets, alfalfa, and potatoes). Inc. 1902. Pop.
