The town has a pharmaceutical production centre, a hog-breeding facility, agricultural-machinery workshops, a crocodile farm, and an international airport. Just north of Siĕmréab are 40 square miles (105 square km) of ruins of the premodern Khmer capital, Angkor Thom (see photograph-->), as well as the monumental temple complex of Angkor Wat. Pop.
