Ch'oe Kyŏng

one of the most famous Korean painters of the early Yi dynasty (1392–1910). Ch'oe was also one of the first court painters of the Yi dynasty; he excelled in portrait painting and made the portraits of many members of the royal family. His success led to his appointment as head of the royal office of painting, and he was made a court noble.
