Italian automobile racing driver who was the first to win the world driving championship according to the modern point system.Farina, the holder of a doctorate in engineering, was the Italian driving champion in 1937, 1938, and 1939. He won the world title in 1950 while driving for Alfa Romeo. He was killed in a road accident.
