释义 | Tuscaloosa Alabama, United States ![]() Services, especially health care and education, are a major part of the economy. Poultry processing and coal mining are also important. Manufactures include automobiles, tires, wire screens, compact discs, paper products, and steel. The city is home to the University of Alabama (Alabama, University of) (opened 1831), Stillman College (1876), and Shelton State Community College (1979). Lake Lurleen State Park and the western segment of Talladega National Forest are nearby. Moundville Archaeological Park is 14 miles (23 km) south of the city. Several antebellum homes remain, including Gorgas House (1829) and Battle-Friedman House (1835). The Alabama Museum of Natural History is on the university campus. Inc. 1819. Pop.
