释义 | Willamette River river, Oregon, United States ![]() An eight-month growing season, an annual rainfall of 40 inches (1,000 mm), and a variety of soils produce a diversity of more than 100 crops, with fruit growing, truck gardening, wine making, and dairying being the most important agricultural activities. The region also benefits from use of the extensive lumber resources found in the surrounding national forests: Willamette, Mount Hood (Mount Hood National Forest) (east), and Siuslaw (west). The name Willamette is believed to derive from a Kalapuya Indian phrase meaning “west bank.” |
